CommentsOMG! Your pumpkins are sooo awesome!
-- "As a Man I'm flesh and blood, I can be destroyed, but as a symbol I can be everlasting. I can be incorruptible, I can be something terrifying..." Bruce Wayne from Batman Begins I love your pumpkins! I wish I could carve pumkins that well.. sadly whenever Im trying to shave off the skin I can never cut it evenly so it looks all skimampus.
-- Contrary to popular belief a barrel full of monkeys is not fun at all and is in fact quite terrifying It really takes practice! A lot of my early shadings were really wonky and uneven, it took a few seasons before I smoothed it down and got it looking nice. Keep trying and I'm sure you can make awesome pumpkins~
-- Hehe Thanks for the encouragement. Heh maybe I should try practicing on some watermellons in the summer before my family cuts into them for snacks. *thumbs up* Im going to keep working on it... and maybe try to find some sort of carving tool that works better for it
-- Contrary to popular belief a barrel full of monkeys is not fun at all and is in fact quite terrifying That's why I started on watermelons! They're slightly different, but still good for keeping skills sharp during the non-pumpkin time.
As for shading tools, my favorite is a dremel drill thing. Specifically this one: [link] It's a bit messy, but it saves a lot of time and with a little practice you can get lots of different depths. I use it in combination with an exacto knife to get the nice sharp lines. -- Ah haha I never thought of using a dremel for pumpkin carving. Hmm I kind of want to give it a go now
-- Contrary to popular belief a barrel full of monkeys is not fun at all and is in fact quite terrifying I'm not sure who first thought it up, but if I did I would go and shake their hand. It's awesome
